Since it has been over a year since I wrote “Who is K9SavvyGirl?” I figured I should update it since some things have changed. First off, I am now 24 years old and a mother to a toddler! Which has kept me very busy and unable to write as much as I would like to. I have also been going through a bit of a writer’s block as many people do just because I haven’t been in touch with my subject matter as much since I have been so busy with my son and working for a Medical Billing company. Another big change in my life which definitely impacts the future of K9SavvyGirl is the fact that I am no longer pursuing a career in the Veterinary Medicine field. I will go into detail on why. After being in school for my pre-requisites and having a lot of time to ponder my most realistic future, the inevitable hit me: I am not going to have the time nor the funds to complete a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, plus the additional schooling to become a Holistic Veterinarian, plus the additional schooling to become a nutrition specialist. Then I would have to conduct the many years of research that I would love to do. By the time I completed my life’s work I may be on my death bed! Not only that, but I also started thinking about the money making factor because unfortunately in this life we are forced to need money. If it were up to me as a Veterinarian, I would not see any clients unless there was an emergency illness or accident. I do not believe in yearly vaccinations, I do not believe in nor would I be selling kibble in the office, I do not believe dental cleanings are necessary (if a dog/cat is fed a biologically appropriate raw food diet), and I believe in treating most illnesses naturally including removing the use of monthly preventatives like flea/heart worm, and deworming medications. These are all the main sources of a Veterinarian’s income! Without the sales of these products/services, I would not make it the first month to pay my rent and utilities! Plus being $1,000’s of dollars in debt for being in school my entire life.. I had to think of another way I could help animals but still be lucrative and be able to help support my family. I decided that I want to eventually make an all organic line of multiple products for dog/cat use (ie shampoo, conditioner, flea/tick spray, etc) and eventually, my own Raw dog/cat food. I do not want to share my exact business plan but let’s just say I am very excited to one day get this started! Thank you to everyone who has supported the K9SavvyGirl Facebook page and I hope to continue the success! If you like anything I post, please feel free to share with your friends/family on Facebook so they, too can gain the knowledge K9SavvyGirl has to offer! If you have any dog related question or topic you'd like me to Blog about, just ask! K9SavvyGirl
